The main aim of civilian, police and military peacekeepers training is to provide participants with realistic insight on the conceptual and institutional frameworks of multidimensional PSO, cross-cutting issues and an overview of core functional areas, in order to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of all the components in a multidimensional PSO. For pre-deployment training, the main aim is to equip participants with knowledge and skills required for successful mandate implementation in missions. Component pre-deployment training is also aimed at turning professional capable officers into competent peacekeepers.

The Security Sector Reform Course introduces participants to some key principles, approaches, and
areas of security sector reform with specific focus on Police and other Law Enforcement Agencies, and specifies
effective strategies for deriving maximum benefits from the course. It also
brings out best practices that ensure distinct compliance. Essentially,
the course is intended to promote the use of effective intra and inter agency
networking strategies that ensure adherence to the rule of law at all levels.

Enhancing the knowledge base, skills and technical competencies of operational level police officers and practitioners in the performance of their reform roles in stable and post-conflict situations.
- COURSE AIM/OBJECTIVES
This course aimed at equipping participants with knowledge of the various dangers in hostile environments and enhancing their skills/capacities on how to react appropriately.
The specific objectives of the course were to;
Ø Enhance participant’s knowledge on hostile mission environments.
Ø Increase participant’s skills needed to operate in a hostile PSO environment.
Ø Equip participants with requisite knowledge/skills for survival and appropriate actions in critical situations.
OVERALL OBJECTIVE
This course is for people who want to become more effective in supporting gender mainstreaming as a gender adviser and therefore not designed for people who need to know more about the concept of gender. Accordingly, the overall course aims to provide participants with knowledge, practical tools and skills that will enhance their ability to support gender mainstreaming in an organization.
The aim of the course is to enhance integrated planning and better coordination of activities and challenging situations that require appropriate interaction between the Military, Police and Civilian components in a United Nations peace operation.
