Course Rationale

The Security Sector Reform Course introduces participants to some key principles, approaches, and areas of security sector reform with specific focus on Police and other Law Enforcement Agencies, and specifies effective strategies for deriving maximum benefits from the course. It also brings out best practices that ensure distinct compliance. Essentially, the course is intended to promote the use of effective intra and inter agency networking strategies that ensure adherence to the rule of law at all levels.

Course Aim

Enhancing the knowledge base, skills and technical competencies of operational level police officers and practitioners in the performance of their reform roles in stable and post-conflict situations.

 

 

Le but de la formation de formateurs/formatrices (ToT) est de créer dans la région de l'Afrique de l'Ouest un pool de formateurs/formatrices capables de faciliter des formations en matière d'assistance humanitaire destinées aux acteurs civils, policiers et militaires impliqués dans les opérations de l’assistance humanitaire et de secours en cas de catastrophe.

 

Le programme est mis en œuvre conjointement par le Centre autrichien pour la paix (ACP), le Centre international Kofi Annan de formation au maintien de la paix (KAIPTC), CARE Autriche et son affilié CARE International au Ghana. Il est financé par l’Agence autrichienne de développement (ADA) et le Ministère autrichien de la Défense dans le cadre des Partenariats internationaux de l’Autriche.
